Itinerary: Day 01 - Arrive at Entebbe International Airport to be picked by our driver/guide, transfer to Kampala city a 45 minute to an hours drive. Depending on time of arrival, visit the city for a short tour, change money and shopping. Dinner and overnight. Day 02 - Depart Kampala and drive east via Jinja with a short visit to the source of the Nile. Have lunch in Mbale then proceed to Sipi falls. Where you will have dinner and spend overnight. Day 03 - After breakfast, we drive to Kapkwata where we start our ascent of this great wide volcano. Start our with you porters and ranger guides walking through forested area as you ascend into the natural mountain rainforest. You will camp at Pishwa camp at 2835 meters (9301ft) above sea-level for dinner and overnight.
Day 04 - After breakfast, we continue our ascent through beautiful ranges, flora and fauna and lower montane lobelia. Wildlife sights here are black & White colobus monkey, blue colobus monkey, baboons, hares, squirrels, warthogs, buffalo and many bird species. Today we cam at the hunter cave camp for overnight at an altitude of 3511 meters (11519ft) above sea-level. Day 05 - After early breakfast, we ascend to the calderas 3700 meters, and descend through the calderas to the hot-springs where you are likely to see buffalo. Ascend from the calderas and head for Mude cave camp for dinner and overnight at 3735 meters (12253ft) above sea level. Day 06 - After breakfast, we start off ascending into the Wagagai peaks- top of the mountain, via Jackson's pool and summit. At the peak of the mountain - Wagagai you will be 4321 meters (14176ft) above sea level. The peak is 8 kilometers(5 miles) from Mude cave camp. Descend to Mude cave camp for dinner and overnight.
Cost of this itinerary: $1650p.p 2 persons The above costing covers; accommodation (ascent - tenting), meals, transportation(including airport pick up and drop off), porters, mineral water, park entrance fees.
